Importance of magnetic recording innovation in an era of explosive Cloud and AI data growth [ DOWNLOAD]
The advent of Cloud and AI have increased the "value of data" by orders of magnitude than ever before. More data are being generated and retained at a faster rate, and we really need everyone's help to accelerate magnetic recording technology improvement rate. Magnetic storage technology will, for the next decade and beyond, continue to play a critical role in forming the fundamental storage building blocks in helping Cloud and AI scale economically as the uncontrollably-explosive exponential growth rate and market demand continues.
In this talk, Lawrence will explain what "value of data" means, provide particular examples of explosive data growth in Cloud or AI, and finally paint a picture on the critical role that magnetic recording technologies play in the various Cloud storage tiers, both today and in the future
